Default Just when yu think you have it sussed

Its been hectic in the Coasty house lately having a new kitchen installed , Including new boiler and replastered ceiling and walls, Its been a pain and cost me a fortune. So today when the sun came out I thought I would try my little beck the spate has gone now and this mornings early morning dog walk showed a stream in fine fettle, I reckoned I could wangle a couple of hours without copping for the wrath of Mrs C...

So of I went with mi grayling bugs and a few drys to see if the ladies wanted to play, Nothing much rising so started on the pink shrimps, Fourth cast a good take and after a minute or two of anticipation of a good Grayling coming to the net a perch of about a pound and a half came bristling over the net,, My first ever perch from the beck , about half a dozen casts later and a few hundred yds downstream a cracking take and yea you guessed it perch number two a cracker maybe a few ounces heavier, I wished I had the camera. By now was down in a bg weir pool and there was a fish rising in the eddy after a few casts a take and good scrap resulted in a small chub.. Was amazed hardly ever caught either species in the beck and here i am catching nothing but them,

Just hope I catch a grayling before long dont seem to be having much luck with em...

Well done on the Perch and Chub, always a nice surprise to catch them in my book.
Awful blog IMO, you shouldn't be allowed such pretty streams in Yorkshire, and where's the pretty lady of the week, like Loopy's. ?
And don't say the Ure grayling.

The perch and chub were indeed a surprise . As for pretty girls.. Well my blog cant compete with Loopys. I shall take awful as a compliment buts thats the last time I stick up for you when Bruce is bullying you.....

Of course if you invited me over for a day on the Eden you may convince me that its as pretty as our Yorkshire gems....

In that case I take it all back, when Bruce is about, I need your support.
The Eden awaits you Andy, you know that, can't promise it's as beautiful though, but it is to me.

Bruce where are you?

Don't complain about catching no ladies Andy, those were nice sized Perch you caught!

I can see the headlines now : Mr, Trout and Coasty, hand in hand skipping along the banks of the Eden.

Well, Bruce was not about to pass comment.

Pushing it a bit there M, perhaps, arm in arm limping along the banks is nearer.
