Default Orkney Sea Trout.

Hi All,

Have been working up in Orkney for the past couple of months which has been a reel hardship with all the top quality brownies I normally have to pay to come on holiday to catch. However my attention and efforts have recently been put towards sea trout (or lack of them) and I was after a few tips if anyone would care to offer any advice about them. The best and only I've had is about 8oz from Stenness at the bridge by Harry after about five outings.
I need to know the best tide times and if there are any better marks to try. I don't expect any Orcadians to give away their secrets as I believe this to be the information you would sell you mother for but any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,
All the info you seek is on my site at http://aghilliestale.com described there is a typical highland situation and explains in detail...
why how and when sea trout and salmon run.
Where when and why they lye up in the river system.
Buy a local tide table book ..cost no more than a quid from boat chandler suppliers or check web for tide tables.
A cast or two in the estuaries is always a good bet too [permit required]
Any way Please pay a visit to site read my articles and if you require any more info please just ask !
The lads on here know their stuff as well as I do.

kINDEST REGARDS
JOHN
