Default Yes- No

As soon as I saw this I said Seatrout.but others said brownie, as did the angler who took it,It was about 2.5lb I'm still convinced it's a coloured seatrout.I have some scales to send to Fascally Lab.What do you think.

Hard to say, without knowing from where & when it came from & even then would only be a guess but it certainly could be a Sea Trout, the shape is right.
Tight Lines
Whoops, just noticed North Esk, yeah I'll still go for Sea Trout, shape screams Sea Trout but guys whover is right it is only a guess. Very hard tell, in the Photos of Sea Trout there is one I would swear is a Brown but again an educated guess.

For my tuppence worth I would say coloured sea trout.

If it is I am surprised it didn't feel different when they get to that stage they start to feel a bit leathery.

Most definitely a coloured sea trout in my opinion - the markings, colour and shape all fit. Never seen a brownie with those marking and colouration.

OK, I'm going to be a minority!! It's a large Brown Trout! Even if the fresh water washed away the salt, it would still have some white or silver makings somewhere! JMO of-course.

I think the scale reading will show brown rather than sea-trout.

What was in her stomach and was the flesh white? Would have eaten a lot of smolts in the North Esk.

If I was a betting man I would say coloured sea trout. It just has that look about it, and I agree with cammy about that leathery feel.

For my money its a coloured sea trout too. Either that or I've caught a lot more very big brown trout than I realise!

Not like any Sewin I've ever seen, I'd guess it's a brown trout.
