Default Peal Remover lines-anyone tried these?

Might have to fork out for a new line soon ,it will go on a HM2 9'6'' #8 ,the rivers I fish only need a 30-40' cast and I wonder if anyone has tried these
PR Sink-tip Line or maybe recommend a sink tip.
Cheers Corky

Any feedback ive heard has ben good about the peel remover's. They were designed to load the rod quicker to reduce the amount of line arialised and were rated 6 and 7 but it caused a bit confusion so they had them rated and put the truer rating on the box. They have a short head which is a slow sink type tip so in fact you would be fishing sub-surface and would also be able to fish a surface lure aswell with them. Im adding 1 to my box as an in between line as i normally use full floater or a cortland sink tip with 15' tip, but the cortland can sink to deep especially on slower pools.

I did consider the Sewincaster but with the 15'tip and leader it would probably be do the same thing as the inty I use now with the short casts needed. The 3-4ft tip might fill a gap between floater/Inty .I probably need to think some more on this .Good tip on cutting the 7' from the floater Speycaster.

Corky,i moved to a cortland #8 15ft Ghost tip a few years ago and aint looked back,,the int tip puts the fly that little deeper in the surface layers(definatley upped my catch rate)the floating line makes it easier to lift of water etc,,,i only use a full floater now for a surface lure,,,

SS..

If anyone has any questions about the Peal Remover lines, fire away - David Pilkington and I had them made for us for night sea trout fishing. We recommend (as in another recent thread) going up one line rating if you are fishing small rivers. We use the 7wt on our 6wt rods when fishing small west country rivers such as Fowey, Lyd etc. The tip is 3 1/2ft ish neutral density so it doesn't 'sink' as such, just sort of 'hangs' under the surface to reduce wake and get the flies a few inches down.
It is a line designed for a purpose and it does that very well ... but I would say that

There isnt much info on the PR line, how long is the head and hows the tapering ?

I use RIO Outbound Short Float/Intermediate,30 feet head with 15 feet clear tip, that work great for night fishing for seatrout at my local rivers.
Fly Lines, Fly Leaders, and Fly Fishing Accessories - Rio OutBound® Short

As a bonus it roll/spey cast great.

Hi Nymph,

The total head (inc. rear taper) is approx. 38ft. Front taper is 10ft inc the 3.5ft neutral density section.

Hope this helps
