Hi Taff

We are here now, went down to the water treatment bridge at low tide and saw 5 fish (couldnt be sure but looked like salmon or maybe ST) moveing up the northern side of the river tight to the bank.
Going for a wander further a field in the 2moz evening.

Hi Math,
The water upstream of the bridge becomes club water, Ogmore anglers I think.
If you go to Keens tackle in Aberkenfig, they sell day tickets.
The Ogmore angling web site will show maps of club waters. Theres a strong possibility that if you see fish up by the bridge in the day they may be Grey Mullet.

You could be right about the mullet but you couldnt be 100% from 35+feet above but the tails looked more square as opposed to concave like mullet

cheers ade,iv already been down 2 keens thats how i know that its £15 for 24hrs and it covers me from where the tide ends up past the town, nice one for the map of the river i didnt think of looking on their web page when i had a walk up the river a good couple of years ago i saw loads of mullet and there are loads of over hanging trees are there many pools that i could work with my spey rod?? pointless taking the double hander,i think its best i take my single hander as i want to catch on the fly as i hate the worm/spinner.

thanx math

Math, you would be much better using a single hander, there are a lot of trees/bushes overhanging the water! The Ogmore anglers website is really good, it will give you all the info you need.
