Default Begginer help please!!

Hi all. I've decided that this years the time to begin trying for sea trout and salmon. Having coughed up (loudly!!!!!!!!!!!) for my EA license I've been looking for fishing on a budget and have come accross millom and district anglers. I've coppied and pasted a list of their waters below, which for £140 per year seems cheap and only a few hours away from where I live in Barnoldswick.

a. Devoke Water, about one mile long, brown trout.
b. River Duddon, 366 yards of north bank below Duddon Bridge on the A595,salmon and sea trout
when conditions permit.
c. River Duddon, Hall Dunnerdale, Ulpha, salmon and sea trout and occasional brown trout.
d. River Lickle, near Duddon Bridge, salmon and sea trout.
e. River Irt, Carleton Marsh, Holmrook, salmon, sea trout and occasional brown trout.
f. River Irt, Drigg Holmes, Holmrook, salmon, sea trout and occasional brown trout.
g. River Annas, Bootle, salmon and sea trout.
h. River Esk, Birker Moor, salmon and sea trout.
i. Black Beck, The Green, Millom, salmon and sea trout.
j. River Lazy, Haverigg, Millom, salmon and sea trout.
k. Presently Baystone Bank Reservoir - fly fishing for rainbow trout.

I'm not expecting to catch............ I'm not soooooo foolish but I will be trying VERY HARD cos Im bloomin persistant.

Any information on the club or its waters would be most appreciated, including any catches but I'm probably jumping the gun for this year.

Thanks in advance

Rob

I've fished the Irt about half a dozen times and not had anything off it. But was told it was renowned for some heavy salmon. If your fishing the Irt you really need to fish a worm or shrimp as the river is heavily wooded on parts of the Milliom stretch. You probably could get away with using a spinner if your casting is accurate. Wish you the best of luck and hope you get a fish or two.

Thanks for that pritts, much appreciated. Probably best if I go with day tickets rather than membership first off.

Best regards

If you don't mind traveling a bit further the river ehen is better than those rivers and it's quite cheap for a season
