Default Do Sea Trout feed?

This might be a daft question but my googling has found unconvincing answers, I have two large-ish fish about 4lbs under a bridge near me feeding abundantly on the top....they are way too large to be trout and clearly not salmon....
Any thoughts chaps?
Mick

Yes they do. I catch quite a lot of seatrout targetting them on dry fly and nymph on my local river. Some years more than half come this way.

They are particularly keen to rise in early season (up to early May) before they descend back to the sea. I watched two huge sea trout earlier this year in a brief thaw feeding regularly on Large Dark Olives.

Without a doubt. I'm sure that many sea trout feed quite often when in freshwater as long as there is a food source available.

I think a lot depends on how fertile the river is and in some rivers that are particularly acidic or poor feeding they may not feed at all but in other rivers like the Hants. Avon, Itchen and Test I'm sure they will feed very happily as if they were a brownie.

I caught a few well mended sea-trout kelts on Loch Lomond last week, which had obviously been feeding in the Loch.

Just to be clear....I didnt spoon these to find this out, they shatt on my hand when I was unhooking them and were safely returned.
