I find it more black than silver... I find it's more an Aberdeen style hook and more suited to threading lugworm for dabs and flounder than dressing sea trout patterns. http://www.partridge-of-redditch.co....ycatalogue.pdf
The hook temper is also variable and the straight eye doesn't hang well on a dropper.

For a bright/true silver nickel finish the Michael Frodin designed Partridge Salar series were in another league. A classier hook altogether.

Hard to get in the single version and Partridge discontinued size 3 & 5 singles three years ago. Sevens & nines still available. Rainy Riding still has a stock of favourite patterns on the single salar silver size five, including a deadly Haslam variant for the Dovey.

Why not try these carp hooks, been using them for sewin and they are great very sharp with micro barb and teflon coated. finish is silver gray Korda brand long shank.

This is a saltwater pattern, but will take a photo of some sewin flies.
