Default The Rheidol.

Hi, does anyone have any experience of this Welsh River?

As a nipper, i remember fishing it, very badly, for sea-trout, and usually failing. My Uncle and Grandfather lived on the banks so i used to fish it quite a lot, and was out when my grandfather had a 12.5lb seatrout from the river.

Being a nostalgic old sod, i'm thinking of heading back this summer to try and get a decent sea-trout from the river that had me frustrated and fishless as a lad. I think in all my days fishing it, i caught one very small seatrout and a couple of brownies!

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Alex

And if your in the area you have to have a chuck in Tal Y Llyn!!

Fishing holidays in Wales - brown and sea trout and salmon at Tynycornel, Tal-y-Llyn

Hope this helps

Cheers Chaps, sounds like it's still a viable bet! Tal-y-lyn also looks great. 2 15lb sea trout last year?? and the chance of a salmon? sounds fantastic.

Am going to have to drag myself to Wales methinks.

Try a PM to Seeker, I know he fished with the sadly missed Malcolm Edwards ,who caught more big fish on the Rheidol than any one else in recent history !
