im new to fly fishing esp on rivers, the river i will be fishing this year is the elwy i north wales,when though is the bes time to fish for sea trout ??? an then when does the season end roughly??

seatrout season normally starts with the salmon, seatrout are normally fished in the summer months ,may june,july probably the best time

20th of March to 17th October. Though you'll do well to find any fish that early, and they're usually tailing off by September.

I fish the Conwy (not too far from you) and I tend to start in mid June and finish sometime in September.

i caught a sea trout in the elwy when i was about 12 years old by accident, on a boat rod on a massive hook and a worm as bait. it was around 3lbs as well. From reading up on sea trout i take it i was very f***in lucky. lol i look forward to trying again this year 18 years on, this time tho my tackle wil be a lil more in keeping with tradition and sport tho haha

end of may into june for me there is allways a chance of one of the big seatrout early on plus it wil give you a chance to get your gear right before the main run ,i allways start early just to get into the frame of things
