The Towy is a sea trout river.

This link will give you a good start in finding clubs / associations on the Towy.

You wont go wrong on the TOWY.
Most rivers in Wales which flow into the Irish Sea receive a run of sea trout, amongst the most famous are the Towy, Dyfi, Teifi, Mawddach and Conway, there are also a large number of very productive smaller streams such as Seiont, Dwyfawr, Ystwyth, Rheidol, Aeron, Nevern and the Cleddaus to name just a few. The once polluted South Wales streams have made a dramatic recovery, some of these such as the Taff, Neath and Ogmore now provide fishing, which is second to none.

Okay, 'reasonably priced', so I'm crossing out abercothi and golden grove?
Assuming that's what you mean so it's association water, what I recommend is to call ahead to Gethyn Thomas (see reports on back of trout & salmon where his contact info is or PM me for info).

When I didn't live here and drove over from the south east I used to call Gethyn a day before I set off and the very day just in case there were reports of pods of fish showing in certain beats or conditions which would favour the low water beats or the high water beats etc.

In short though, for the towy novice the ones I'd get day tickets for are between Crosshands water, Llandeilo water or Llangadog water depending on how much they have been hammered by the worming boys, where the fish are, and how high or coloured the water is. If you don't know the towy then Llandeilo is in the middle of those beats and Llangadog and cross hands water is something like 10mins drive up or downstream of there.

Cheers and good luck,

Bri

hi tommy, i fish the Llandeilo waters of the towy and its a good, varied stretch of the river. Its about £25 per day, or if you wanted a season permit that would cost £90 plus a one-off payment of £50. However, there is a waiting list so you may not become a season member straight away.

Hope this helps.
