Default first seatrout on fly!!!!!

caught my first seatrout on a teal, blue and silver that I tied myself tonight(just recently started tying). I can't put into words how chuffed I am. iv tied up a few more tonight aswell as my own creation. blue tail, black body with silver rib, squirrel hackle with some flash through it. I hope it does the job. if any1 has be other good tips on flies/technique it would be much appreciated. going back tomoro hopefully for another. sorry I don't have any pics but I couldn't bring myself to kill it.

Well done fort, lovely fish m8. What was your set-up. Intermediate etc, fast sinking... Next would be how did you retrieve, fast stripping or what? I've had a bash in the salty river clyde recently at night but had no joy. I'm not that good at casting and end up in knots but will give it another go soon as the light fades earlier now. I've been using shrimp patterns due to salt.

Cheers
Kevin

was fishing a loch style set up, 3 flies 5 feet apart.
was using a fast intermediate with a fairly slow retrieve as there wasn't much wind. i was fishing loch areianis near lochaline, cracking wee loch with plenty of sea trout and a few salmon
