Default Sea trout Rod

i m looking for a new sea trout rod (as the other has snapped). Looking for a 10 - 11 foot and mid to top soft with 7/8wt. I was looking at the Greys GRXI+. I was just wondering if anyone has used one or if there are any more recommendations?

The grxi rods are ok.I have just started using a flextec powertech switch rod for a 7/8 line for £60 its a bargain good with a double taper in low water and great with a shooting head in higher flows landed a 12lb salmon first time out with it

If you can get your hands on a Greys Platinum XD 10' 7# - it takes no nonsense from sea trout.

I know that Homleigh Garden Centre (google them - angling dept) still have some old stock (around £190) new with warranty.

edited to add - I don't know if they will do mail orders though.

Had the Belmont for a while it's not a very good rod and it's quiet heavy for a 7wt

The GRXi+ is much better than the older GRXi IMO.

You should seriously consider the Fulling Mill Gold 10 #7 as it is pretty much just what you are describing and available for well under £100. I now have two of them and can't fault them as a sea trout rod, the only criticism would be that they are a little heavy compared to some others.
