Default how Should I approach sea trout with a fly.

So far I know that prime sea trout fishing is at night and I know what flies I should be using but how should I be fishing these flies. should I fish across and down with a jerky retrieve or what other methods are effective. any info/ help would be massively appreciated.

thanks

gerry

Hi,
If you are using a shrimp type pattern try and copy the way they swim like jerks then pause. If night time with tubes or zonkers/muddlers these would be steady slow retrieves. If i'm wrong someone will correct me

Cheers

Have a read of the sea trout articles at..

http://www.aghilliestale.com

There's also info on catching sea trout during the day time and how to approach to ensure success..
