Well having popped up the day before to wade the willow pool at durham in daylight to find the nasty drop off's I decided to head there on saturday night for a few hours sea trout fishing.

During the week the river had risen twice and with my wishful thinking i hoped this might have brought a number of fish up to these pools.

i started by the wall end and worked my way down to the willow pool as the night wore on. i did have a few pulls but again no fish for my efforts.

i did see a nice sea trout jump and heard a few more when the darkness rolled in.

Maybe when we get some more substantial rain the fishing will improve and i might get that illusive sea trout.
