All is not as it would seem to be...
There is a 6 page centre spread on the Usan fixed engine mixed salmon fishery in 'Fishing News' 2 Sept 2011 - the process part mechanised following over £100,000 in EU Grants and support of Scottish ministers and Marine Scotland - it would seem that
'some' of the sea trout "can't be released" and have tp be taken, stung to death by red Lion's Mane jellyfish... George Pullar quoted: "30 to 50 typically weighing 7 kg each".
Fishing News showed the Usan nets were doing very well on large MSW salmon: "a new golden era for wild salmon" to quote 'highly respected experts' on changing run times.
