Default River wear (first session of the season)

Well after some rainfall on the weekend me and my father decided to head out on to the wear. We arrived and i set up with a peter ross and my dad set up with a marabou.

After a couple of fish jumping and waiting for it to get dark we worked our way down the pool. I lost 2 fish and had a number of strong pulls but unfortunately no fish were landed by either of us.

Had a good session though and its promising for the rest of the season. Just need some more rain to bring a few more fish back into the river system.

Andy

I've just joined Ferryhill and plan to head out this weekend. Hoping for a downpour before then..

Does anyone know when the fishing really gets going? I saw a graph on here once showing Wear vs Tyne but don't seem to be able to find it...

The sea trout fishin will really start picking up around the end of june but obviusoly rainfall can have a factor on things also.

Im going to be out this weel on the wear as it had risen 5inch the other day and with the heavy rain today i reckon some fish will have moved up.

cant wait
