For me it has to be one of their three Sink Tip lines, of which the 15ft Medium/Fast Type 3 is my favourite.

Why do you need a Sewincaster for the Ogmore? Any line which bends your rod will suffice on such a small river. The presence of fish in the river and confidence that they are there is what you need, not an expensive line. If they are there, all you need to do is get some sort of fly in front of them. For the Ogmore that does not need a Sewincaster - for goodness sake.

Fishing for sewin is like C.P.Snow's first law of meetings "Be There".

Love the Sewin caster lines and use them for all sorts of fishing from swff to Piking to Sewin fishing.
The inter and the di 5 are my most used.
Turn over flies great shoot well last for ages and are the mutts nuts.

I have to agree there is a certain logic in dieboerra's post. But... knightynose specifically asked about the Sewincaster range, which is only made in #8 rating, and regarded as big river lines, I'd assumed he was going to have a few casts on the Towy afterwards, in the wee hours after the regulars have gone home, and when the faster sinking tips come into their own.

The 24ft Ultra Fast Sink Type 6 tip is my other favourite, great on the Conway if there's a bit of pull to it; it is of course 'Type 6', not 5, unless you, Toby, still have a stash of specials and prototypes? As said: superb for bass/SWFF also.

The Og is such a small river in width above Nicolls Run you would be lucky to shoot out a full line.
For a floater I use a Barrio 7wt nice cream colour. The line fishes well and have had it for a few seasons now and with the colour being cream quite good in the night.
As for an intermediate a lot of the guys use a glass line and get good results not to fast in sinking. Also a Cortland Blue intermediate is a good choice aswell.
A few guys do use 8wt as they load the rod quicker but like I said it is a small river.
As the season goes on and the river fins down to low levels a 6wt will cover all.
See you on the Og
