New SWFFer from West Kent/East Sussex
Am just jumping into salt water fly fishing after picking up a fly rod for the first time in 20+ years and the juices started flowing again! I remember being out on the Cuckmere estuary catching mackerel with a reservoir fly rod in my teens before many had thought about it over here & getting plenty of funny looks. Strange how things come full circle sometimes...
Have read some books, ordered/got tackle, waders, fly tying gear and soon ready to try out the theory out in practice.
Any recommendations on where to go on the South East coast that isn't too challenging to start with and with the chance of some mackerel, bass or pollack? I'm assuming estuaries or rocks/features might make the easiest start.
If anyone wants a fishing companion or to go in a group then get in touch. Currently have some free time because I'm "between projects" (hopefully) so flexible about opportunities to get good tides at quiet times etc.
Tight lines!
