I have a Vision 3zone sw 8# for the salt at the moment and am finding a little too slow, particularly in windy conditions. I was looking at getting a faster rod. The TFO TICR gets pretty good reviews and is reasonably priced, am a little concerned it might be too fast though - basically wondering how these two rods would compare in terms of action. Would be buying online so trying before buying not really an option. Another rod I'm thinking of is the TFO Pro, described as medium fast.

I was made aware of TFO fly rods some years back by an Australian Custom SW Reel Maker name of Terry Hayden.Terry now has a business link with TFO but back then he did not.The rods he recommended and used himself was the model you have quoted.I have several TFO's and think you might find the pro more suited to freshwater fishing.Certainly less of a Cannon than the TiCR series.
The TFO rating can be confusing as possibly rated on double taper as opposed to weight forward lines.I use a 9wt on a 9ft 8wt TFO TiCRx.Lifetime no quibbles guarantee and by all accounts excellent back up service.

I personally do not think you would be disappointed with a TFO.

Peter Cockwill at Albury Game Angling in Surrey,England also stocks TFO.I think the connection there is Peter's friendship with Jim Teeny who along with Lefty Kreh endorses TFO Fly Rods.

TFO are decent rods with a good warranty. However the TiCR and X are quite a bit heavier than other rods.

Don;t know the tfo well but the vision is an excellent rod for the price often use mine in preference to sage and others its not to stiff but stiff enough.
