Hi John,
I have been looking in to this recently and spoke to Mat at Fly Odyssey who suggested May/June was the best time for Roosterfish from the beaches. I have the details in my email, pm me an email address and I can forward it on
Chris

I've some 10+ year old VHS tapes of panga fishing off Cabo, casting live scud into the breakers for roosterfish. The tapes were by angling author Graeme Pullen of Fleet, Hants. Unsure if he's still operating. He also used to organize striped marlin trips there each January.

There is a quality outfit in Cabo called Baja Anglers. Run by a guy called Grant Hartman.

If it doesnt have to be Cabo then there are other places in Baja (eg Loreto etc etc) to catch Roosters. A US travel firm called Fishabout specialises in fishing out there and they run hosted trips if you havent done it before.......

Hope this helps.

It was probably me who expressed interest in Cabo a while back! I'm still interested in the Baja peninsular, mostly for the Roosters, but found the cost of going alone prohibitive, hence my post seeking interest from others. The place is still on my "to do" list. Incidentally, Oz at UK Saltwaterfiles (Barramundi) went with some guys to Loretto two or three years back (a friend of mine was on one of his trips) and my be able to offer some tips - and, no doubt, some kit as well!
