Went to Brittany last summer at Carnac and had my first go at fly fishing for mullet. There is a good spot in between Carnac and La Trinite Sur Mer on the D186. The there is a small estuary that is partially dammed by a causeway. At low tide there is still water in the estuary and on a high tide there is a strong flow to the estuary. Saw literally hundreds of mullet both in deep water and in just a few inches. Activity was frenetic and several fish were jumping out of the water. Had some interest on the fly but no takes.
Did not try a Diawl Bach which I now understand is a favourite. Hope someone tries the spot and has some luck.
Would be interested in Mullet fishing off N or W wales if anyone can suggest sites. Martin from Bratton
