Default Bournemouth SWFF

Can anyone point me in the direction of some SWFF'ing in the Bournemouth area for later on this month? Looking for advice and/or a guided trip.
If you'r a Lee Evans fan we might be able to do a trade!

Cheers

Andy

Andy,

Pretty much all the beaches in that area will produce Bass and Mackerel on the fly. Fish first or last light on a rising tide. If your there on the neap tides it will be hard work though.

Thanks for the answer. I'm there next next monday for 8 days but the tides don't get to springs until the end of the week. I have mornings off so I'll be wetting a line as often as I can.
Any recommendations for specific locations within walking distance of the town centre?

Cheers

Andy

Saw a report on South Today this evening about Bournemouth town centre being flooded following torrential rain today, live from the 'Winter Gardens'. I could swear trhere was a Bass blitz taking place beside the roof of the hot dog stand.

So, managed a few early morning trips and was rewarded with a few bass and the odd mackerel.
Thanks for all the advice, paid off nicely!

Good stuff Andy, I live in Bournemouth and I'm just getting some kit together to start SWFF, if you don't mind me asking where did you go and what sort of flies did you use, as a complete beginner any advice would be great

Rockhopper, I've had success with schoolies (20-30cm) fishing Shell Bay and Jerry's Point in Poole Harbor at first light using both white steamers (3-4") and crab patterns. I usually fish the fly's stripping 18" of line then waiting 5 seconds before the next strip although I've also had flounder when I've let the crab patterns sink and just twitched with short 6" pulls and a second wait betweens pulls. I fish with a intermediate fly line although I believe the expert SWFF's use bigger fly on the top to get the bigger fish.

I've never tried the Bournemouth beaches but I'm sure the fish will be there as you frequently hear of bait caught bass coming off them. I prefer the tranquility of Shell Bay and Jerry's Point with the city lights in the distance.

Hope that helps, PM me if you want any more info (no expert by the way, I'm just a guy who likes working-out my right arm!)... Darren
