Default Gosport SWFF?

Hi Guys, im heading down to Gosport with my little lad who is BMXing. Is it worth me bringing some tackle down to maybe catch a Bass/Mackeral. Ive never flyfished in the sea but done loads of Pike flyfishing. I can tie up some patterns if its worthwhile.

Regards Rich.

Stokes Bay is worth a visit. Try to time it for a flood tide. Fort Gilkicker at the east end of the bay is a good place to start, with bass and mackerel regularly making an appearance. You can park at the end of Monckton Road and walk down the lane leading to the fort.
Tight lines.

I used to live in Gosport, but it was a long time ago! We used to get bass from the sea wall, groin area on the road that ran around the back of HMS Hasler Navy Hospital. This is right outside the entrance to HMS Dolphin and I do not know if you can still access this area but if you can the fish stack up here on an outgoing tide. All that water emptying out of Pompey harbour really seemed to concentrate the bait fish.
Hope you get some.
All the best.
Mike
