Default Any advice on fly reels for UK saltwater ?

I'm quite new to Saltwater flyfishing and so far have been using an 'old' resevoir reel (which I dont mind having to throw away if needs be). Can anyone advise on a suitable - sensibly priced - reel specifically for the job please?
Anyone got using an Airflo Bluetooth Nano? what do you think of it or is there a rod anyone could recommend. (currently using a VERY modified Bob Church 7/8/9 Long Range Caster from the '90's - upgraded reel seat - new stainless steel guides - and reduced to 9ft from 10ft.

One of these landed on my mat this morning, chosen on many recommendations for a serviceable and very affordable salt friendly reel. I can't compare it with anything though, as the only other fly reel I own is the 30 year old Kingfisher Rimfly I used as a kid. At the price, I think it's a bit of a bargain.

Here's another vote for the Okuma Airframe, great value reel for the money

Without doubt the Okuma Airframe has to be the best budget reel for saltwater. Had mine around 8 or 9 years now and still going strong, albiet relegated to my lesser used lines now. I do 30-40 trips to the coast a year and am notorious for abusing my gear. The only area you have to watch is the clip that holds the spool to the spindle can become gunked up with salt residue.

I've just bought an Airflo Bluetooth Nano after looking at just about every rod available in the under £200 price bracket. It casts well, even with less than favourable conditions and bulky, heavy flies and will comfortably cope with anything the UK can throw at it. I reckon it's going to be a bit of a classic like the old Greys GRX 8/9 was.

I wouldn't touch any Airflo reel based on previous experience. So I would get the Airframe. If one has lasted 8 years in the hands of MJB then it has to be pretty tough!

The original Orvis LA reels were good to, especially the 'Made in England' ones made by BFR before production was moved to China. A few of these appear on ebay.

another vote for the Okuma Airframe (or it's badge equivalent Avalanche) robust, good drag, cheap for reel and spools

Just brought the new Sage 4500 and 4800 fly reel smooth start up and excellent drag. Will be swaping all my UK reels to these. Brought them fron the States a lot cheaper. Buying 2 hear is the same as getting 3 in the US and only paid £40 tax.

The Okuma do seem pretty good - I know a number of swffer's who've had them in the UK. I started with an Orvis mid-arbor IV, and that was also great value (with a free spool) and more than up to UK salty species.

don't let water get into the drag mech or its curtains for that reel. They say its sealed but it isn't.

Wasn't going to add this as there are so many votes for the okuma. I have loads of them and use them for trout and salt water. Absolutely bomb proof and cheap. Glasgow angling were selling them very cheap recently, spare spools are cheap to
