I used to lure fish the Warren for bass, mackerel and gars.

It was much better fishing from the 2nd Apron to the east of the camp-site where the rocks are at low-tide (providing cover for food species and hunting bass) but they have ruined the marks along there with boulders to protect the shoreline, making it difficult and dangerous to fish.

I always found it fished best in settled weather (the wind tends to break up the whitebait shoals and the fish move away from the shore).

Best fishing is as dawn breaks when the tide is in, or into darkness at the end of a calm day.
