Watch the tide! there are some fierce tides on that river of yours.

The flats will yield flounders.
fast water around structure will yield bass. Mostly schoolies, if the illegal netters have left any in the estuaries. I wish people would report the netters every time they see them. The bass are being wiped out and as it is the recruitment stock they aretaking, your fishing will decline very quickly unless something is done about it. After all, would you allow someone to take salmon or seatrout smolts and sell them? That is the equivalent thing.

You have some good fishing right on your doorstep. Stop and think a bit about what there is likely to be where - read a couple of sea angling books, they don't need to be SWFF orientated, where the bait chuckers catch fish, so can you on the fly.

Nothing to do with Arnside, but a neighbour who's in to fly fishing on rivers told me he also goes to Walney Island for good SWFF for Bass. Bit more of a drive though....

Intend to have a do myself at some point.
