A mate and I had a nice few days over in Kerry the other week with JQ. I actually got sunburnt in Ireland!

Wexford is prone to a lot of influences and none more so than the NE and E wind - it kills it dead - I got the fish in a 10 hour window of southerly as it backed from E to NW

its difficult sometimes to help a customer understand that the fish will be difficult if not impossible if it blows such and such

seeing this HERE

makes my life very very difficult and I have my first guided customers next week - guess I'll be driving to the Dingle peninsula or further! Next stop Boston.....

Very Nice Jim, Havent got wet yet this season!

I was in Wexford on 24 - 27th. It was a NE for much of the time and i totally blanked on the Bass front - so good to hear its not entirely down to my incompetence!! Caught a gorgeous sea trout - but was almost disappointed as i had thought it was my first fly caught Bass.
Good holiday though - despite uncooperative bass!

It hasnt been easy guy and its still very early for bass in Wexford - of course the danger with this wind theory is that someone will catch in an easterly (which is entirely possible of course) and then.....

When conditions are 'otherwise' good like this (sun, warmth, clear) its possible they may spawn from time to time especially at this time of year and pods of fish are prone and close to shore in current - down deep and hungry but these are fish caught against the run of the mill and may be exceptional to the norm.
