Some very sad news to report - Billy Pate passed away this morning at 6.30 am EST.
Billy was a pioneer in the world of saltwater fly fishing. He is and will always remain one of the true legends of the sport.

I Can remember the Kelly Watt videos which included a few with Billy Pate in,awesome fly fisherman,

Default Very Sad Loss
A great man whole will be missed.

He had a the 16lb tippet Tarpon world record for 21 years and also was the fist man to catch a Blue and Black Marlin on the fly.

A true legend
