Thumbs up My first SWFF trip Scotland

Hi Guys

Well ive finally gone swff ! Yesterday i was a guest of another forum member and i have to say a big " thank you " to him as in all honesty i probalby would have blanked with out his knowledge and tips.

I would have to say it was hard day, we only took a fish each all day but great experince and im sure plenty more sport to come when things warm up abit.

I used my Vision 9' 9# GT four SW Rod, Okuma helios reel, Di3 9# line, 5ft leader of 15lb mono. And my first proper "field test" of my Ikea Stripping basket And i have to say it worked superbly even with our mountain goat impressions required to get to certain fishing marks

The veiw,the rod, the reel:

Such a beautiful fish the colours were amazing ! as you can see he really wanted the fly an dunbell eyed orange fritz with orange artic fox tail on a 1/0 Aberdeen hook. Note the mouth damage on the left hand side pointing to the fish being caught before and probably a barbed hook being pulled out

My "barbless" fly was easily removed even as deep as it was

I cant wait till it warms up and more and more species become available

Great day, great fun

Just make one from a washing up bowl and cable ties (thin ones - i tried the strimmer line thing and it doesn't work as well).

This one is 5 years old and still going strong:
