I went fishing with Allrounder on friday after mullet and Mackerel on the fly somewhere in Lyme bay and had what you would call a red letter day.

We always seem to do well when fishing together as it proved today.

First off we fished for Mullet and had them feeding off bread that was sinking to the bottom but they would not take off the top.

This was our first go at them so were not expecting to hook or catch any but 20 minutes in to the session i hooked a mullet and managed to lose it as it dived under a boat !*"%

No other fish were forth coming so at around 8pm we went along the coast to try for Mackerel.

What a time we had.

Allrounder and myself manged to land over 50 fish between up with Alan pipping me by 1 fish.

As you will see from the next few pictures the mackerel were very close to shore so i think a 3# will be used next time

A few pictures of the day catching Mackerel on the fly.

The fish were coming to very small 1 1/2" flies the same size as the brit in the water.

My thoughts exactly.

I had two #5 weights in the car but opted to set up the #8 weight instead.

I kicked myself all the way home.

Looks like a top session and provided plenty of barbie fodder too. Delish.

Wow

That sounds like a great session there.

I am looking forward to getting out this weekend on the Kayak and trying a few local marks to me in Helston (Cornwall)

Fingers crossed for my SWFF red letter day.
