Thumbs up go for it

hi denny.if you are classed as a local, then the season ticket is great value.it's not so good if you have to buy it as an outsider, but as a begginer ,you will still have a chance of a fish.just don't be put off by the spinners and bait fishers

How do you know he is not a spinner or bait fisher? On the river bank i tend to find many bait fishermen very friendly and humble, while alot of the fly fishermen are up themselves and think they are above the rest.

salmotrutta,i have no idea, but as this is a flyfishing forum i can only asume that Denny 321 is a flyfisherman. as to those that are 'up themselves' i 'll have to take your word on that,as i don't give anybody a chance to be snobby.i'll talk the hind legs of everybody

Well he is possibly a bait fisherman himself, there are not many forums for bait fishermen, if any at all! Or possibly a bait fisherman trying to get into fly fishing. All i am saying is, telling him not to be put of by bait/spinner fishermen was quite a naive thing to say. I mostly am a bait fisherman myself, fishing the worms for salmon requires skill and timing. You cannot learn this or teach it, it is all experience gathered season after season. Very much the same as fly fishing, which i am starting next season.........

regards

salmotrutta,if you were to fish the river forth at stirling, which is near 'denny'.you would know that for every flyfisherman there will be 20 bait/spinning.and at times it will be combat fishing.shoulder to shoulder.much as i imagine your beloved sixmilewater can get.at these times flyfishing is just not an option.
if you knew me,you would know that the one thing i am not is naive.
and if there is a lack of a bait/spinning forum .why don't you start one.but my failing memory tells me that there is a salmon forum where all disciplines are welcome.i will try and find the address for you.

What's the matter with starting this season.or are you to scared of meeting folk who are in your words 'up themselves' why put off till next season what you can attempt this season.you wont regret it.
(by the way i know how to worm, shrimp. spin. along with the best,it's just that i chose not to )
