Default Kent Angler

Do you mind if I ask you about this salmon in the photo?
It looks a little wrong to me, is it alive?

Alive? Itīs in rigor mortis!

Or it is a very good plastic imitation!!!!

Although the eye position is very odd.

I was trying to be polite, it looked dead to me but I could not understand the photo.

I think itīs just a poor set-up photo with a dead fish.

That certain "stiffness" is unmistakable usually. The only thing that rather bothers me, is that the eye seems to have "rolled", and this of course does not happen on dead fish!

It certainly is a very odd photo.

Be assured, although I can see what the fuss seems to be about, that the fish never left the water and was not dead. It was caught mid March on The Rushes at Warwick Hall on the Eden. I can not vouch for my mates photographic and compositional skills. We were a) excited, since this was my first springer and b) keen to get it released with minimum time and stress.

Well done Kentangler, on a hard earned springer from the Eden.

Although I thought the fish looked rather "stiff", the downward looking eye convinced me that the fish was alive. Unless I'm wrong, the eyes on a dead fish always stare outwards.
