Goldhead is on a distinguished road
Default Palnure Burn

Hello all - visiting from the troutier pages ....

We will be having a family holiday near Newton Stewart in May, and I will have the opportunity of fishing the Palnure Burn - although probably only one day. I understand this is a spate stream with both salmon and sea trout.

I am completely new to salmon (and indeed sea trout) fishing but fish a somewhat smaller stream for trout and grayling. I suspect my 7' 3wt may not quite be up to the job!

Can anyone offer any advice on rods and flies etc?

Many thanks in advance!
