Default white in salmon fishing

Hi guys

I have noticed that a lot of salmon flies don't have white in them unlike trout lures does any one use white salmon flies or have any luck with white coloured salmon flies?

One of the more succesful Tweed salmon flies is the junction shrimp, generally tied with a heavy overwing of white deer/fox hair over a hot orange underwing.

another is the bomber, used as an out and out wake/dry fly for salmon, uses a lot of white in tail and head.

hope these are of some use.
