Default Suggestions Please

An opportunity to fish for salmon on the Aberdeenshire Dee in late June means I need to get a suitable fly rod. What would you suggest would be best for me?

All suggestions gratefully received. Thank you.

I know you don't like to buy cheap rods and require something that lasts forever so I would suggest you consult Carron and have a rod custom made for you. Home > The Carron Rod and Case Company

Length depends on which end of the river you have been invited to fish.

lol,
you might actually need 3 rods late june on dee!
it might be showing its bones, and single handed #8 weight is good enough.
it might be just about right (you know what i mean, the should have been here last week scenario!) then a double handed #9 at about 13 foot is good.
it might be a big water, then you are gonna need the 14 foot to 15 foot #10/11 brute!
regards
bert

lol,
ok brute might have been the wrong word!
stop off on the way up and you can borrow #8 9', #9 13' AND #10 15', all big names all insured, you will need your own reels/lines cos you aint getting your hands on those babies at any cost!
