My first ever salmon followed a couple of hours later by my second. Caught them on the Isel beat of the Cumbrian whilst a guest of my dad's. Took my about 14 days of fishing to get these two, now to work out exactly what I did right!
Hen estimated at 20lb and the cock estimated at 24lb.

Congrats James. The Derwent is a lovely river and those are smashing fish.

It was the Cumbrian Derwent. Lovely river that my dad lets me have a ticket on each year through the Bowland club.

Yeah, it's a stunning place. Very nice clubhouse and friendly club too. A nice way to round off the season. Hopefully get a nice silver fish at some point next year! Do they fight any differently to coloured fish?

Well done sir, a good mate of mine is a member of Workington Anglers and I've had 2 guest days with him this year on that stretch which are the first beats on the river from the Sea, I've done ok and had a fish each time out
10lb & 12lb bars of silver which were both returned. It's been a difficult year by what I've heard on the Derwent so you should be well pleased with those fish, coloured or not.
