Default Any idea of weight?

Hello all,

This Salmon was caught on the Tay - angler was on his own and took two quick photos on his phone before letting this magnificent fish go on it's way. Rod is a 15' Sage. I know it's a very tough guestimate but....any idea on weight?

Finally worked out how to attach this second picture. Not sure it helps much with a weight estimation though. In fact, probably not at all.

Cheers

Have to agree its a though shout, but here goes: I reckon anywhere between 12.5 - 31.25lbs.

Whats the prize BTW.

Haven't given much thought to a prize I'm afraid! I just thought that one of you clever blokes out there might somehow be able to measure the fish against a 15' Sage? i.e. They might know the measurement of a bit of the rod on show in the picture. Definately clutching at straws I know.
My guess would be 18 - 20lb but I am very bad at guessing fish weights so I stand ready to be ridiculed!
Agree with Jim - must have been lovely to see it swim away...

Seriously I would echo Jim to a point, circ 25-30lbs and a nice clean fish as well.

Well done to the captor.

At a guess about 30lbs. The problem is that just 3 inches out can make a massive difference to the weight

39 inches - 25 lbs
42 inches - 30 lbs
45 inches - 37 lbs
