Yorkshire Trout is on a distinguished road
Default Annan

Hi Guys

I am wanting to find a salmon beat which i can go to and come back in one day from Leeds so that I can go as often as possible and get to know well. The Annan seems to be a good choice. Does any one fish this regularly? Was thinking Brocklerigg or Chleuchhead??

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul
I've fished Brocklerigg for over 25 years the rights to the beat were given to a family friend and I and my family fished it for free. When the friend died we lost the beat for a few years until it was made available again to the public.

It's a half mile of river with a small pool and a large one. The large and the small pools yeild a lot of salmon. There some good runs and a weir. The river has to be right or you'll blank.
We had the tip off when to go and it takes 2hours from Blackburn to Ecclefechan. Its 47 miles from Leeds to Blackburn about an hour. The whole trip should take you just over 3 hours.

If you do go let me know how you got on.

BK
