I'm almost a salmon virgin (2 grisle) - can anyone recommend any books or dvds that are instructive for the uk salmon angler? I've already looked at Hugh Falkus, wondered if theres anything modern that adds to that?

Expensive but genuinely worth it!

An old classic I would also suggest is "Letters to a salmon fisher's sons" by A H Chaytor. For plain, practical and senisible advice this is hard to beat.
