Cal,

I was up there last year and all the info i could find said that there has been a big drop off in salmon numbers. The beck at Charlestown does not have a run of salmon, despite it looking like it should.
If i were you i would take a small trout outfit i disappear up to one of the many lochs for the Broons.

Alternatively i spent many hours fishing with the kids off the pier in Charlestown. I caught plenty of mackerel and pollock on a boat trip from there as well. Great fun and plenty of other wildlife out there otters, dolphins etc

The public bar at the back of the hotel/restaurant on the front at Gairloch served great and was very freindly and pointed me in the right direction regarding the fishing.

Cheers

Pool''ewe''.that would be the river Ewe.You might get a chance of a rod on it ,if no one has taken it.most rivers in the area are let by the week.

Tickets are available for the river Kerry at Gairloch, the general store at pier road sells the permits, its a bit low at the moment but given the water it fishes well enough for a spate river, the flowerdale river has a small run but again its a spate river, no rain here for a couple of weeks so every thing is low, some fish coming off the Ewe, easker 1

Interesting when I was at Mellon Udrigle and asked a local about a permit for the Greenstone Point lochs he said he didn't know of one.
