Hi,

I am in the market for a new fly rod, im looking for a single handed rod, but i will be using it mostly for salmon fishing on the river Faughan in Northern Ireland.

I like the look of the Greys XF2 rods, but im unsure which model would suit me best, there is the XF2, streamflex and carnivore.

Has anyone had any experience of these rods? Are they worth the money?

i have no experience of the XF2 range but I do have a GRXI+ 9ft6inch 6 weight rod with matching reel and a snowbee XS 7 weight floater on it, absolutely fantastic set up!
so light yet has plenty back bone for the bigger fish.
So if they did improve these rods with the new range then they must be fantastic rods!
im thinking of getting a wee 9ft 5 weight for the river, let me know what they are like if u get one.

i did buy a 9ft 9/10weight shaky expedition rod for salmon/salt water/pike etc, it is a tremendous rod for its price! it is 7 piece and easy to travel with.
for its money, its a wicked rod.
