Default Pre-wrapping cleanup of a rodblank

Hi all,

I've finally received my first blank from the US, but have spent more time fondling it than is probably necessary. It's covered in fingerprints and the like. I also expect that I'll have a certain amount of epoxy cleanup to do as I get to sticking things on and coating wraps.

I've searched on the dedicated rodbuilding forums which mostly has advice for Americans. These suggest Denatured alcohol, which isnt easily available in the UK.

Is there anything available locally (ie B and Q etc) that would serve the same purpose?

Thanks for any advice.

Chris

A bit easier to find than you might think.

If Mentholated spirits is not easy to get near you then Flytite (sp) thinners is the same stuff.

You can get meths very cheap at all the DIY stores.

For pure acetone go to boots or there are guys on ebay selling it by the liter pretty cheap. Dont use nail varnish remover.
