Hi Folks.

I have a Ideal XL Fly Rod - 9' AFTM # 6/7 and I need top replace the tip ring I
have been looking online but I'm not sure what size I need and I don't want to put the wrong size on.


Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Hi Mr edd,

When you ask about size? Do you mean the size the internal bore of the tube that fits over the blank has to be, or the actual ring loop or insert size? The part the line goes through.

If it is the former? Just get a ruler and measure the diameter of the blank just below where the current tip is fitted, or take the old one off and measure the blank at that point.

If the latter, what type of guide do you want to fit?
