Talking Nicha Is Finally finished

Finally the rod is finished. There is a long list of Thanks on this one.

Gary (Bbamboo) Nicholson - for the taper and advice.
John Chapman - For the blank, and all the hardware including the custom reelseat and fitting of the ferrules.
David N - for the waterslide name labels, via www.fishingrodlogos.co.uk , and a lot of advice.
Fisherprice - for the name.

Thanks All.....

Well here she is - A 6' 3 weight cane brook rod, based on an adjusted PHY midge taper.
Hardware is Rec Recoil guides and mildrum stripper.
A custom cork reelseat made by John Chapman because he thought that the cork on the rec PLRN I chose was not good enough
Classic sporting ferrule - blued by John, he liked the look of it..

The rod weighs in at 2 1\4 oz and to give a perspective on the blank the capital letters on the name are 6mm high and the lower case are 3mm. It is a lovely blank

And finally some reasonable pictures.

Regards merv

Nice looking combo, I especially like the grip.
There was a youngs jubilee 5100 going in classifieds that might suit it

Thanks Mr T - Already christened, she's been the downfall of 12 brownies on her first outing, all released of course... Mostly around 7" although one of 14" one gave me a few heart stopping moments - as the tip is so fine, (1.6mm bore tip ring). I sould not have worried though, she handled it fine. Coupled with one of your furled leaders it is a dream to use.

Taniwa - I'll take a look at the reel. The grip was done by John Chapman, he suggested a payne style and then fitted individual shrives and turned it for me..!

Thanks

merv

Merv,

Looks a beauty and already christened, well done. If she fishes as good as she looks then there will be much pleasure derived from the fruits of your labours.
