timmytime is on a distinguished road
Default vintage reel seat - spare parts

I have a couple of quite old Hardy Palakona rods that I haven't used for 30 years or more (they were old then). I got them out for a once over the other day and was horrified to see that on both of them the tightening nut on the reel seat has rotted away. Otherwise the rods are in very good condition and deserve a good day out again this century.

It looks like classic galvanic corrosion caused by a mismatch in materials in the original design as they have been kept dry all this time.

I could easily get something made up to for a replacement but would rather get hold of spares sympathetic with the age of the rods. Hardy don't seem to keep spares. I was wondering if any of you guys knew of anyone who trades in "rod breaking", as I'm pretty sure not all of these made it to their 50th birthday?

Any pointers would be gratefully received.
