Default HARDY ANGEL COLOUR?

Hi All,

This a longshot, but I'm kind of stumped on this one and hope somebody can help?

I have a Hardy Angel Salmon rod here that I have in to make a new 3rd section for. That is not the problem. The section has been made and is ready to be finished. The problem is the colour. I have no idea what colour it is. I have seen the exact colour on a Fiat Punto, but a visit to a car factors and Halfords by my son has not thrown up a clue as to what the colour is. Halfords have no spray paints in the Fiat section that are the same colour.

The colour is out there! I saw a Fiat yesterday with that exact same colour. Short of stopping the owner of a car with this colour to ask them to lift the bonnet to get the paint code, we are stumped.

Here is a picture of the broken Hardy Angel section and the colour it is. Does anybody have any ideas what the Fiat name of it is, or the Fiat paint code?

Click the image to open in full size.

Thanks,

David.

I can only suggest a search on Autotrader for a car with the same colour. If the colour description is non-descript then take the pic to a dealer. Vauxhall did the same though and that was definitely Sunburnt Orange, we also used the colour for a special edition Merc Sports Coupe but I can't remember the name (other than baby sh1t as it was commonly known).

Saying that, will Hardy not give the RAL colour if asked?

David ,

This is from years ago when I used to run the Raleigh Cycle Paint Plant - Gold Metallic under and a very slightly tinted ( touch red lacquer ? ) over - but the damned thing will be an experiment and eyesight job !

Best shot

Thanks to another member over in the Tackle talk section HARDY ANGEL COLOUR?

we have the Fiat colour now. Thanks for the input though.

The customer has I'm afraid been asking Hardy for some time if they will do the repair. He never got a reply to any of the emails. After hearing that story from him, I wasn't inclined to waste my time on trying to get information on the paint out of them.

Thanks Steve. I think we have the colour. Fiat Samba Orange. It does need a bit of red though. Good tip. We just need to find a tin of the stuff now. There is none on Ebay. I'll see if google can throw up a source.

Regards,

David.
