Default Practise piece wanted

Does anyone have a broken rod or sections of a rod they dont want, I get my new rod wrapper tomorrow, I hope, and would like to practise using it before I go headlong into my next build.
Obviously I'd pay for it and the P&P but not looking for something to build a complete rod out of, just a practise piece?

Again dowel
Or pop into a tackle shop for a damaged section.

Hadn't thought about dowel.
Have been offered a broken rod by a member which is brilliant as it will allow me to practise on the different diameters a rod has.

Rather than having good work going to waste, why not try renovating one of your old rods TC? You must have a few lying around. Every angler has.

Take the rings off and fit a new set, varnish it. etc.

That will teach you more about rod building technique's than practising on bits of dowel or broken rods. You will also get a reward for the effort you put in, by seeing an old rod come back to new.

I'm sure the chaps on here will advise you on what to do if you need help.

Thanks Whitegoatie,
received the broken rod today.
Really appreciate your kind gesture, a true gentleman.
Now onto practising with my rod wrapper.

Thanks for the thought Mr T,
The rod arrived yesterday and it will be ideal to strip down and use for wrapping and epoxying practise.
Cheers,
TC
