Default Not Rod but Reel

Hi all,
has anyone here ever made there own reel?
I would love to make one at home on my cnc machine but no idea where to start, maybe recreate one of the old style wooden reels for fun?
If anyone had any diagrams or designs they could pont me to that would be great failing that just a simple idea for how one would look would be good.
Need to put the cnc machine to some good use.

I made 2 reels last winter from a plan on the Eclectic angler site from Scrap alu
Making them was no problem but refining them took time I dont have a CNC M/C just a woodturning lathe and a tiny centre lathe, it kept me out of mischief

Thanks again for all the links my head is now swimming.
I am going to purchase a kit from electic angler but then re machine some new spool face designs maybe incorporating a 3d carved trout as i use on my fly boxes on the opposite side to the handle and some fancy engraving to the handle side.
As soon as i get started i will post some pics.

Ok an update.
Finallly got round to messing with the kit i purchased from electic angler site.

I have remachined the plates with a pattern just to see how it looks and it is in thicker brass than the kit, i would like to do in thinner brass, but at least i know it all works at the moment.
I am also looking to engrave the reel foot after i shape it.
Hopefully MK 2 over the weekend.
