Default Hex Cane Beachcaster

Just wondering if anyone out there may have a Hexagonal split cane beachcaster or two knocking around?..

A friend has asked me to make a 12' 2pc rod for casting 4-6oz weights approx 150yds or so...

I will be running a few numbers to work out a taper but i would like to see what has been done in the past... If you are able to mic a taper for me or perhaps share any tapers you may have i would be most interested in receiving them..

It will be a very different kettle of fish compared to the brook wands i prefer to make

If you have one that is ideal for what i want to make but are unsure on how to mic the taper i can explain how to do so..

Many thanks

I don't think there were any split cane rods used for casts of that distance. Was it not Leslie Moncrieff who made the idea of casting 100 yards plus a possibility and I think that would have been with a fibreglass rod.

Hi I totally agree 150yds would be out of the question stick to what cane does best.

Ps I may have a taper somewere if you need it, but personally I would not bother mate
